Halite is a very aesthetic, pink salt crystal found in Trona, California, USA. Halite, commonly known as rock salt, is a type of salt, the mineral form of sodium chloride. Halite forms isometric crystals. This specific type of halite has had its color tainted by bacteria of various algae species. How fascinating!

This mineral is very fragile and is prone to falling apart which is why it's so important to store it in a dry place where moisture won't affect it. What I find helpful is placing a silica packet underneath the specimen wherever you choose to display its beauty.
