These amazing self-collected fossilized leaves are from the Late Eocene - Early Oligocene time period. This one is especially cool because you can see there the leaf had folded while it was getting buried in the sediment that preserved it. There is some debate on which formation they are coming from as we are finding mixed information from different geologic surveys and maps. These leaf fossils are from the beautiful State of Washington. We believe these fossils are 33 million - 23 million years old. The species of this one in particular is unknown currently but we believe that it might be a young maple leaf.
